Star Review: An Adobe Workshop Wrap Up

As I mentioned earlier I've been accepted as an Adobe Software Student Representative this quarter, and in a rush, my fellow colleague, Rachel Douglas, and I put on our first workshop.

We are looking to host a workshop once a month. However, this one was a whirlwind from start to finish. The folks at Adobe announced that if anyone were to host a workshop by the end of the week there would be extra rewards involved. Rachel and I decided, why not! Let's make it happen. So, in two days we conceived, prepared, and presented a workshop. Our workshop was entitled "Starring You!". In preparation for the Oscars we provided students with stills from movies including Jurassic Park, Grease, Titanic, Anchorman, The Shining, and more. Then we took their photos, and showed them how to add themselves into photos.

I had a blast doing this workshop, and working with the kids. They were very eager to learn what we were showing them. So much so, that when I e-mailed them back their finished photos I included a video tutorial on how to do what we did during the workshop.

If anyone is interested in learning more about painting out backgrounds with masks, and importing yourself into photos here is the tutorial I sent to the students.

And if you don't have the tools for this then here's a link for a free trial of Adobe Creative Cloud.

Below you'll find a photo from the workshop, the work I did, and the work Rachel did. Enjoy!

Once again I want to thank everyone for coming out to this workshop. Rachel and I are already working on planning our next one.

As always there is more to come.
