Cookie Cutter Custom Nightmare

Today's Sunday Matinee installment of the Horror Movie October graphic design calendar card series is the another fantastic film from Gremlins' Joe Dante, the 1989 Tom Hanks follow-up to The Money Pit, The 'Burbs

"The 'Burbs"
I love all of Joe Dante's films, but The 'Burbs is by far one of my favorites, and one of his most underrated films. Tom Hanks, Corey Feldman, and Bruce Dern shining through as the worst nosy neighbors of surburbia.

In this piece I presented to contrast of the warm veneer that suburbia presents itself with against the drab depressive undertones it can often carry because of its lack of personality. I also used squares to represent housing units that create a claustrophobia.

Check out the trailer. Then hunt down the film.

So Many Teeth!

The next installment of the Horror Movie October series and a Double Feature Friday includes The Lost Boys and John Carpenter's Vampires

"The Lost Boys" and "John Carpenter's Vampires"

These two films are probably the best way you can spend an evening with vampires.

James Woods, Kiefer Sutherland, and Corey Feldman AND Corey Haim
How can you go wrong?

The Lost Boys is by far some of the best work that director Joel "Batnipples" Schumacher has done next to Flatliners, and I don't believe John Carpenter, the American cinema pioneer behind Halloween, They Live, and Escape from New York just to name a few, needs an introduction.

Check the trailers, then hunt down the films.
